Reimagining a Thousand-Year-Old Mythical Symbol
Inspired by the classic tale of “Liu Hai and the Golden Toad” from the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period (since around 900 AD), this creation is driven by a sincere mission shared by both the design team and the production craftsmen.
Taking over 18 months to develop, every detail was refined with the intention of honoring tradition while presenting it in the best possible form. The hope is to inspire a renewed appreciation for cultural heritage—because only by loving our own culture can it continue to grow and thrive.
A New Interpretation of Tradition
Redefining tradition is the responsibility of design. The Lucky Toad “Juji” stands apart from typical market-driven products; it was not created based on trends or target audiences, but from a desire to reinterpret and elevate cultural meaning.
Rather than simply reproducing the past, Juji represents an exploration of cultural possibilities—bringing tradition into the present with a fresh perspective and deeper significance.
