The drying process for chestnut wood is extremely difficult; it is highly prone to cracking during production, making it quite challenging to work with. As a result, crafts made from chestnut wood have always been considered precious. Compared to ordinary chestnut wood, “Jindai Chestnut” has a harder texture, a deeper, richer black color, and virtually no odor. Among all varieties of Jindai wood, Jindai Chestnut is an extremely rare and precious species.
Jindai chestnut wood is harder and darker in color than regular chestnut wood, and its natural scent is almost entirely absent.
Furthermore, since chestnut wood is prone to warping and cracking as it dries, Jindai chestnut crafts are considered even more precious.
